Death and life of a Severino
Sobre o projeto
The choreography “Death and life of a Severino” premiered in September 2019, celebrating the eighth anniversary of the Companhia Estável de Dança. The choreography is inspired by the poem “Morte e Vida Severina” by João Cabral de Melo Neto, published in 1955. The work tells in a harsh way the story and the suffering faced by the migrants from the Northeast, represented by the character Severino. The choreography reinterprets the story, placing us as Severinos, in life, using the bodies as an element for the narrative of this story.
